Sustainability

At TCG Grading, we believe sustainability is about practical, measurable choices, not grand claims.

As a grading company operating in a physical hobby, materials matter. While encapsulation and protection are essential, we’re committed to reducing unnecessary waste, reusing what we can, and making responsible decisions across our operations - particularly within the Australian grading space.

Smarter Packaging Choices

We’ve updated our packaging processes to significantly reduce the use of non-degradable materials wherever possible.

Bio-Conscious Materials

The majority of our internal packaging materials are now 100% recyclable or biodegradable, including cartons, paper-based protection, and internal packing components. For outer shipping, we continue to use a premium protective mailer where required balancing presentation, item safety, and sustainability.

This approach allows us to protect high-value collectibles without defaulting to excessive or single-use plastics.

Reuse Over Disposal

Unlike many grading workflows, we actively reuse and redistribute protective materials:

Top loaders and sleeves received with submissions are reused internally, returned where appropriate, or given away at events and shows to collectors and vendors.

Where materials such as bubble wrap or protective padding are received with submissions, they are reused wherever possible rather than discarded.

Shipping boxes received from customers are routinely recycled or repurposed as part of our internal operations.

Very little is thrown out unnecessarily: reuse comes first.

Events & Community Distrobution

Our involvement in events and community activations also helps reduce waste.

Protective supplies such as sleeves and loaders are often redistributed to collectors at shows, helping keep materials in circulation rather than landfill. This approach supports newer collectors while reducing the need for single-use purchases.

Ongoing Improvement:

Sustainability isn’t a one-time change: it’s an ongoing process.

We continue to review our materials, suppliers, and workflows to identify opportunities to reduce environmental impact without compromising the safety or quality of our service. As new materials and solutions become viable, we aim to incorporate them thoughtfully and transparently.

Keep an eye out as we continue to refine and improve how we operate.
